Message from the President

Representative Director, President
Suzuki Yoshihito

Our company started as a textile manufacturer in 1892, and has changed its business with the times, based on the technology and management resources cultivated in textiles.

Looking ahead to 2042, the 150th anniversary of our founding, the Shikibo Group has set a long-term vision, "Mermaid 2042," which aims to be "a Shikibo Group that is closer to you and loved by you," and aims to be a corporate group that continues to provide value to stakeholders.

Based on this long-term vision, we have also formulated our "vision."

The first one is, "We aim to create a work environment where employees can grow through their work and work with peace of mind, so that they can realize the image they want to be."
We aim for our employees to be able to work with a sense of fulfillment, feel a sense of accomplishment, and work energetically, and to have the mindset that "if it's not fun, it's not work." We also want our products and services to be a source of pride for something or someone in society.

The second principle is, "Through the technology and services we have cultivated in the textile industry, we aim to solve social issues and realize safe, secure and comfortable lives for our customers."
Our original business is textiles, and this textile technology is used in many places in society. Based on this technology, we would like to continue to create things that are useful to society and challenge ourselves to evolve further.

The third principle is, "We aim to realize a sustainable society through products, services and manufacturing that take the environment and human rights into consideration."
We will promote manufacturing that leads to a sustainable society through reducing greenhouse gas emissions from our business activities and through sustainable materials.

In our new medium-term management plan "TG25-27 (Transformation for Growth)" that began in fiscal 2025, we aim to "transform to growth" based on the strengthening of our management foundation under "ACTION 22-24."
Our basic policies are to "improve profitability" and "grow and expand new core businesses," and we will take on the challenge of new businesses that leverage the technology and management resources we have cultivated in the textile business. Furthermore, we will strengthen business operations through digital investment, promote human capital management, and promote management that is conscious of shareholder capital costs, with an emphasis on efficiency and financial soundness.

The Shikibo Group will work together to work toward "transformation for growth" and to increase our corporate value.
